The Foundry Suites Athens
Industrial-chic meets mid-century modern. Exposed stone and brick walls, large steel-framed windows, hardwood and terrazzo floors, and earthy tones broken up by vintage furniture, gear-based window mechanisms, and custom light fixtures. The entrance is marked by a wall of antique books and a cistern converted into a wine cellar under a glass ceiling. Hip but not try-hard.

Why It Matters
Listed on Tablet Hotels. The building's layered history is genuinely woven into the design — not just marketing copy. No two of the 12 suites are the same, every unit has a fully equipped kitchen, and the Acropolis-view rooftop with sourdough pizza and local Greek wines is one of the better hotel terraces in Athens at any price point.
The Foundry is a 12-suite boutique hotel occupying a 1930s building in Athens's Psyrri district that has lived several lives — type foundry, printing house, cultural center. Today it's one of the most design-forward places to sleep in central Athens. Each suite is completely different: some open onto private garden patios at ground level, others are double-height lofts with floating staircases, and one second-floor unit comes with a private veranda that frames the Acropolis. The rooftop Picnic Garden, planted with olive and pomegranate trees in minimalist Danish style, serves sourdough pizzas and Greek wines in spring and summer with the Parthenon as the backdrop.
