A 19th-century nobleman's palace on a quiet side street just off Via del Corso, The First Arte is the only hotel in Rome with a two-Michelin-starred restaurant on site. Twenty-six rooms and suites house over 200 original works of contemporary Italian art — after a thorough 2024 refurbishment, each of the four floors is dedicated to a specific living artist. The rooftop bar and restaurant, Acquaroof, sits six floors above the street with some of the finest skyline views in this part of Rome.

The sitting room has a blue velvet sofa, a Levanto red marble coffee table, and a geometric-patterned carpet that gives it a genuinely residential feel. Sofa bed means it can handle three guests. Bathroom has both shower and bathtub plus a walk-in closet.

One of the larger configurations at 50–66 sqm, with one bedroom and two separate sitting areas — the kind of suite where you genuinely spread out. Marble bathroom with shower and bathtub, walk-in closet. Good for longer stays or anyone who needs room to work as well as relax.

The top of the range at over 100 sqm. Two king bedrooms, three Emperador marble bathrooms, a full dining area, a living room, and a private terrace with jacuzzi. Sleeps up to six guests with two kings and a sofa bed — the only room at the hotel that makes sense for a family or group travelling together.

The entry-level room and, fair warning, 25 sqm including the bathroom is genuinely compact. But it punches well above its footprint: king-size bed with a velvet headboard, walnut wood furnishings, and an Emperador marble bathroom with a shower. Original artworks by modern Italian artists on the walls.

The private terrace hot tub is the main draw here. At 37–48 sqm, it's not the biggest suite, but a soak in the jacuzzi after a day of cobblestone-pounding makes it one of the most practical. Walk-in closet, full marble bathroom with shower and bathtub.

Spa Suite View
Same hot tub terrace concept as the Spa Suite, but with panoramic rooftop views over Rome. The fourth-floor rooms here are dedicated to Neapolitan artist Giovanni De Angelis's monochrome photography of Roman trees. At 37–39 sqm it's not huge, but the private terrace and skyline views make it the room the Timeout reviewer recommended most. Some units connect to an Arte Suite.
