The Danai is a family-run 5-star beach resort established in 1976 by Mrs. Danai and Mr. Otto Riefenstahl on the Sithonia peninsula of Halkidiki — on the Greek mainland, about 85km from Thessaloniki. Three generations of the founding family still oversee the 56 individually designed suites and villas spread across 40,000 sqm of Mediterranean gardens, all perched above a 300-metre private sandy beach. The wine program alone is extraordinary: a 130-metre underground cellar with 1,700+ labels, a sommelier team named best in Greece, and a head sommelier currently enrolled in the Master of Wines program.
