The Chedi Andermatt is the first European outpost of the Chedi brand — and a genuinely surprising one. The building sits in a traditional Alpine village at 1,440 meters above sea level, but the interior is all dark wood panels, Hästens mattresses, Acqua di Parma bathrooms, and murals drawn from 17th-century Dutch masters. Asian design sensibility meets Swiss mountain chalet, and somehow it works. The result is 119 rooms and suites, two Michelin-starred restaurants, and a 2,400 sqm spa that has no business being in a village this small.
