Why It Matters
The only boutique hotel in La Crosse, and a legitimately historic building — the site of the city's very first settlement (a fur trader's log cabin in 1842) and the landmark FUNKE Candy Factory from 1898. Earned 1 Michelin Key in both 2024 and 2025. The candy factory DNA runs through everything: the chocolates on check-in, the water tower out front, the name of the place.

It's the only boutique hotel in La Crosse and the first independent luxury property in the area, holding both a 1 Michelin Key (2025) and AAA 4-Diamond distinction.
