Why It Matters

A 1906 Beaux-Arts skyscraper turned boutique hotel, sitting right on Peachtree Street in the thick of downtown Atlanta. Built by Coca-Cola magnate Asa Griggs Candler — Atlanta's first steel skyscraper — the 17-story building spent over a century as offices before reopening as a hotel in 2019 after a meticulous restoration. The marble lobby, original period elevators, crystal chandeliers, and Tiffany glass windows are all still here. Rooms are fresh and modern by contrast, which works surprisingly well.
