Why It Matters
Buckhead's only independent boutique hotel. Named #1 on the MICHELIN Guide's Buckhead Best Hotels list and 2024 Hotel of the Year in Marriott's US & Canada Full-Service Franchise portfolio. Fia Restaurant has won the OpenTable Diners' Choice Award six consecutive years (2020–2025) and was cited by Forbes in 2023 as one of the coolest places to eat in Atlanta.
The Burgess is Buckhead's first boutique hotel — a 102-room labor of love from owners Burges and Freny Jokhi, who poured family history, world travels, and real personality into every corner. Freny (a RISD-trained designer) sourced furniture from their international trips; Burges (a Johnson & Wales alum who once cooked for the United Nations) runs the kitchen. The result is an eclectic, warm property where a life-size Sengoku samurai armor stands next to a Balinese tribal lion bench and the lobby desk is inlaid with mother of pearl from India. It punches above its weight class with a seriously good restaurant and a vibe that most big-brand hotels in this neighborhood can't replicate.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The hotel functions as a genuine art gallery. Original large-scale paintings and digital collages by Jessica Jokhi (the owners' daughter) hang throughout guestrooms and public spaces. Asian and global artifacts are displayed with backstory placards — including a life-size Sengoku-period samurai armor from Kagoshima, Japan; a Chinese tessellated bone dragon sculpture; Chinese brush paintings by the owner's mother; a Balinese tribal lion bench carved from a single hardwood log; and a mother-of-pearl inlaid front desk from India.
24/7 access. Peloton bike, Kettle Ball Interactive Center, treadmills, ellipticals, free weights, and strength machines.
Curated book collection, adventurer's atmosphere, marble fireplace with sculpted goddesses, and Himalayan expedition photography by the owners' father. A proper reading nook, not a lobby decoration.
Two event spaces (Dynasty Room and Mosaic Room) with high-end catering, AV equipment, video conferencing, and group outing coordination through the hotel's events team.
Outdoor courtyard pool with sun loungers. Open Mon–Sun 10am–7pm. Towels provided.
