Why It Matters

The F&B stack — tiki bar, rooftop bar, coffee patio, cocktail lounge, and Stone beer garden all on one property — is genuinely unusual for a 10-room inn.
Ten rooms in a seismically reinforced 1888 brick building — once Oceanside's first hardware store — that sat stuccoed-over and forgotten for 60+ years until the Aldrich family bought it in 2017. A five-year adaptive reuse project stripped the stucco, bolted in a modern steel skeleton, and opened the doors in June 2022. Every room has exposed 1880s brick on the walls and luggage racks built from the original century-old lumber. The hotel sits sandwiched between a ground-floor tiki bar and a rooftop Caribbean cocktail bar, four blocks from the pier.

Third-floor rooms with a private balcony looking out over downtown Oceanside — nice for a morning coffee or evening sunset. Same queen-bed setup as the standard rooms but one floor up and with the added outdoor space. Furnished balcony with comfortable seating. Slightly quieter than second-floor rooms.

The flagship room — a top-floor suite with a private balcony, separate living area, and open-concept layout. Multiple guests have called Suite 301 'huge.' The balcony is ideal for watching sunsets over Oceanside. Sleeps up to 4 via queen bed plus pull-out sofa.

Standard Room (Rooms 202–205)
Second-floor standard rooms with queen bed, en suite bathroom with shower, exposed 1880s brick walls, and colorful designer wallpaper. No balcony. Sleeps 2. Each room is individually decorated. The wood luggage rack in the closet is made from the building's original 19th-century lumber.

Corner suite on the second floor with an open-concept layout, large windows, and tall ceilings. Separate living area with a pull-out sleeper sofa, plus the main queen bedroom. Four blocks (about a 5-minute walk) to Oceanside Beach and the Oceanside Pier — one of the longest wooden piers on the West Coast. The hotel is close enough to use as a proper beach base.
Classes held on the 2,100 sq ft rooftop with views of the Pacific Ocean and the Oceanside Pier, run in partnership with Delve yoga. Multiple class formats offered throughout the week, including Sunset Flow, Funday Flow, and specialty classes. Yoga mats provided for guests who travel without one. Reserve in advance as classes cancel if not booked.
The Brick has hosted wedding room blocks and private rooftop parties. When all 10 rooms are booked as a block, the rooftop bar can stay open past normal closing time for private events. Group rates available for 5+ rooms booked for 2+ nights.
Every Thursday, Pier View Way right outside the hotel becomes a full street fair from 5pm–9pm. Dozens of food vendors, local artisan stalls, and a live band. Farmers Market also runs 9am–1pm the same day. One of the best free things to do in Oceanside — and it's literally at your doorstep.
