The Box is a 4-star adults-only boutique hotel on Via Milano — the main artery of Riccione's seafront strip. Owners Marianna Chiaraluce and Alfredo Monetti gutted a former design hotel (the Sixty, itself a reinvention of the 1950s Nevada Hotel) and rebuilt it as the most design-forward property on the Adriatic Riviera. The result: 40 rooms packed with Wall&Décò wallpaper, pastel hues, vintage vinyl players, and a ground-floor cocktail bar and restaurant that draws as many locals as hotel guests. Steps from Viale Ceccarini's shopping and about two minutes on foot from the beach.

The entry-level rooms at The Box. Compact by design — think clever layout over space. They inherit the circular bathrooms from the original Sixty Hotel, which is genuinely quirky. Wall&Décò wallpaper and considered lighting keep things from feeling budget. Good for travellers who plan to spend most of their time out and just want a well-finished base.
DoubleCute Box
A step up from Cosy with slightly more floor space and — crucially — a balcony overlooking Viale Milano. Same design DNA but with room to breathe. Good pick for a short break where you want an outdoor perch without paying for a full suite.
DoubleFancy Box
Only two of these exist. A proper step change in size, with a whirlpool tub as the headline feature. Pastel walls, 1950s-inspired furnishings, and the vinyl record players that guests rave about. Plenty of space to actually use. Featured on Bruno Barbieri's '4 Hotel' TV show specifically for this room category.
DoubleThe Apartment Suite
The hotel's showpiece. An 80 sqm open-plan space on the top floor loaded with special objects, vintage pieces, and high-end design details. The large equipped terrace has a sea view that becomes especially good at sunset. This is genuinely a different class of room from the rest of the property — more like renting a well-curated pied-à-terre than checking into a hotel.
