Teach de Broc
Cosy Irish country guesthouse meets serious golf base. Think candlelit dinners with live piano and harp, hypo-allergenic pillows, and a self-serve tea station in the bar after a long day on the links. Warm and personal rather than slick.

Why It Matters
Named Guesthouse of the Year 2025 by Georgina Campbell's Ireland Guide, Boutique Golf Hotel of the Year by IGTOA, and featured in the Michelin Guide, Lonely Planet, Golf Digest, and Condé Nast Traveller. The only accommodation that is literally a two-minute walk from the first tee at Ballybunion Old Course — one of the world's consistently top-ranked links.
Teach de Broc — which translates from Irish as 'Home of the Brocks' — is a family-run boutique guesthouse that has been welcoming guests since 1994. It sits directly across from Ballybunion Golf Club's two world-famous links courses on the Wild Atlantic Way in County Kerry. Fourteen en-suite rooms, an award-winning dinner restaurant, and a full bar with live music every evening make this the default base for anyone pilgriming to play Ballybunion. The name is earned: this is genuinely a family home that happens to have guest rooms, run by Aoife, Seamus, Dermot, and Cian Brock.

How you'll actually spend your days.
An 8-minute walk from the hotel opens up two miles of Atlantic sandy beaches. Cliff walks, sea caves, and Ballybunion Castle ruins are all within easy reach on foot. The Wild Atlantic Way coastal trail runs directly through the area.
Live musicians perform every evening in the bar and restaurant — piano, harp, and guitar. Open to both hotel guests and diners.
A two-minute walk from the hotel's front door. The Old Course at Ballybunion is consistently ranked among the world's greatest links, in play since 1894. Teach de Broc guests receive a 10% discount on green fees (standard rate €450 per person) and the hotel arranges tee times. A caddy car escorts guests from the driving range to the first tee.
The Cashen Course, originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and now redesigned by Tom Watson, reopens from August 18, 2026. Standard tee times run €150 per person. The hotel arranges discounted bookings for guests, with the dedicated Watson Links Experience package available from €350 pps.
Dedicated on-site locker room with individual storage for each guest's clubs, bags, and equipment. Drying area for wet gear after play. Included for all staying guests.
