The Strandhotel Glücksburg sits right on the white sand of Sandwig Beach, directly on the Flensburg Fjord — 7.5km northeast of Flensburg and a quick drive from the Danish border. The white Art Nouveau building dates to 1872 and has earned the nickname 'The White Castle by the Sea.' Inside, rooms and suites are done in clean Scandinavian style: light woods, natural tones, lots of daylight. There's no indoor pool, but the wellness lounge is solid, the sauna setup is genuine, and Restaurant Felix picked up a Michelin Guide Germany recommendation.
