Ask for The Hermitage — the historical cabin built by original homesteader Jack Jacob 'Rusty' Lein. It has a kitchenette and the most character of any room on property.

Why It Matters

Two consecutive Michelin Keys (2024 and 2025). Genuinely inaccessible by road, which is a feature, not a bug. The only way in is by boat or floatplane, and the payoff is brown bear viewing, glacier kayaking, saltwater fishing, and helicopter excursions right out the front door. Featured in Forbes, Outside, Travel + Leisure, and AFAR.

Stillpoint Lodge sits on a private peninsula in Halibut Cove, a remote Alaskan artist village accessible only by boat or floatplane. You arrive by a 20-minute water taxi from Homer or a floatplane from Anchorage, and from that moment the outside world disappears. Nine private cabins built from locally salvaged spruce surround a 5,000-square-foot main lodge with cathedral ceilings, floor-to-ceiling views, and an indoor babbling creek that flows to a reflecting pool. It's all-inclusive: every meal, the full open bar, guided adventures, wellness sessions, and gear are folded into the rate — which starts at $3,272 per person per night.
