Why It Matters
Over 100 years of continuous operation as a classic Danish seaside hotel, a serious gourmet restaurant drawing ingredients directly from the surrounding Troll Forest and coastline, and a wine cellar carved from Bornholm granite that earned recognition on the prestigious Star Wine List. The new outdoor KlippeSpa with heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, and cold water pool rounds out what is now a full-service destination on one of Denmark's most distinct islands.
Stammershalle Badehotel has been sitting on Bornholm's north coast since 1911, just 30 metres from the rocky Baltic shoreline. The hotel's 36 rooms and suites keep the original floor plan and architectural bones intact — it's the cozy side of Danish design, warm and classic rather than cold and modernist. New owners since 2021 have renovated thoughtfully without stripping the character, and a brand-new outdoor KlippeSpa arrived in 2025 to go alongside one of the island's most serious wine cellars.

15 rooms in a separate wing across from the main building. Ground floor or 1st floor, all with a balcony and sea view of the Baltic Sea and Christiansø. Charming, light beach-hotel look. Small refrigerator and capsule coffee maker in each room. Modern bathrooms; some ground-floor rooms have a bathtub. Newly renovated.

A two-floor suite on the 2nd floor with a sea view balcony, double bed, desk, and renovated bathroom. A private internal staircase leads up to the tower — an extra room at the very top of the hotel with a sofa, coffee station, and B&O speakers. The view from the tower is 360 degrees across the Baltic Sea, rocky coastline, and the island of Christiansø. Non-smoking.
