The architects (Schmucker und Partner) preserved the original silo structure — a 12-metre-tall silo bathroom in the top suite, a warehouse elevator repurposed as a room feature, panorama windows framing the Rhine. Opened 2013 and has since become a local cultural hub, regularly hosting events, art installations, and live music.
A 1950s grain silo in Mannheim's port quarter that sat dormant for over 30 years before being converted into one of Germany's most distinctive boutique hotels. Twenty rooms ranging from 25 to 80m² mix raw concrete and industrial bones with mid-century design classics, COCO-MAT beds, and Aesop cosmetics. The bar in the foyer is a proper social destination in its own right — open to locals and guests alike — and the Rhine-facing terrace is the place to be on a warm summer evening.
