Solaz, a Luxury Collection Resort, Los Cabos
Bold, art-forward Mexican modernism. Soaring stone towers, indigenous huanacaxtle wood, marble textures. Desert meets ocean in every corner. Feels more like a curated cultural experience than a standard resort.

Why It Matters
One of the few resorts in Baja with a true Thalasso therapy spa. Al Pairo holds a Michelin recommendation for its pre-Hispanic-inspired contemporary Mexican cuisine. The resort hosts Gabinete del Barco — the only museum in Mexico focused on the natural wonders and archaeological treasures of the Baja Peninsula. Architecture by Sordo Madaleno and a landscape by Jerónimo Gabayet featuring a 'dry jungle' of native cacti make this stand apart from the typical Los Cabos property.
Solaz sits on 34 acres of prime beachfront on the Sea of Cortez, positioned squarely between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo. The architecture — a contemporary cascading sculpture designed by award-winning Mexican architect Sordo Madaleno — quite literally spills down a hillside toward the water. Over 450 artworks are woven into the resort, curated by artist and architect César López Negrete after a survey of the entire Baja peninsula. The beach here is one of the rare swimmable stretches in Los Cabos, and the family infrastructure (kids club, four pools, artisan-butler service) makes it genuinely work for multigenerational groups, not just couples.

Dedicated kids club with enriching activities, toys, and specialized staff supervision. Purpose-built space that makes Solaz genuinely family-friendly rather than just tolerant of children.
On-property cooking classes available, including a Master Chocolate Class and Nixtamalization MasterClass (up to 8 guests each) offered as part of culinary packages.
Guided ecotours of the Baja peninsula's endemic landscape, including the resort's 'dry jungle' of native cacti and flora, arranged by the Les Clefs d'Or concierge team.
Whale watching is available from the shoreline November through April. The resort's Whale Watching Package (available January 7–April 10, 2026) formalizes the experience. Guests have reported seeing whales breaching from the shore without even booking an excursion.

On-property courts for tennis and pickleball.
