House Tel Aviv, Jaffa
Bauhaus-meets-Ottoman creative members' club. Think clean forms, warm terracotta, vintage wingbacks, and a clientele that skews young Jaffa creative. It's casual-cool, not stuffy luxury.
Book a turret suite — three of the 24 rooms sit in the circular tower spaces, with four-poster beds and their own living areas.
Why It Matters
The only Soho House in the Middle East and arguably the most architecturally interesting in the brand's global portfolio. The building's history — convent, school, hospital — layers onto a neighborhood that's 7,500 years old. Non-members can book rooms, but the pool and club spaces are very much member-led.
Soho House's first Middle Eastern outpost occupies a castellated 19th-century building originally built as a convent for the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Apparition — two crenellated turrets and all. The original gated entrance, marble staircase, and patterned floor tiles remain, but the interior has been overhauled with Bauhaus-leaning design: rattan armchairs, ceramic lamps, vaulted ceilings, and bedspreads referencing textile artist Anni Albers. Three outdoor spaces are the real draw — a sunken garden bar shaded by 300-year-old lemon trees, a curved terracotta-tiled pool with a DJ booth, and a courtyard where you'll likely stay longer than planned.
