House São Paulo
Brazilian modernist members' club with a creative, design-forward social scene. Lively by night, surprisingly calm by day. More art gallery than hotel lobby.

Why It Matters
First Soho House in South America, housed in the Cidade Matarazzo complex — one of São Paulo's most significant urban restoration projects. Interior design by Danielle Vourlas (Soho House Design for the Americas) and an art collection curated by Sara Terzi featuring 60+ Brazilian artists, including a site-specific surrealist mural by Marcelo Cipis in the main bar. The Matarazzo Suite alone is 179 sqm with two emperor beds, freestanding baths, and a balcony.
Soho House's South American debut occupies a restored early 20th-century Italianate hospital complex inside the Cidade Matarazzo, one block from Avenida Paulista. The bones are all arched windows, original ironwork, and exposed brick — but the interiors go full Brazilian modernist: reclaimed wood floors, hand-painted tiles, native imbuia and cobreúva furniture, and over 60 works by Brazilian artists on every wall. It is members-only (Soho House or Soho Friends), which means the 32 rooms and ground-floor club spaces consistently draw São Paulo's fashion and creative crowd.
