Why It Matters

The interiors, designed by Didier Gomez, layer haute couture references — Cecil Beaton's Vogue photographs, crystal pendants, studded leather closets — across 148 rooms and suites. Location is genuinely hard to beat: 50 metres from Place de la Concorde, the US Embassy next door, Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré right around the corner, and Concorde Métro a 100-metre walk.
