Siam Kempinski sits on genuinely royal ground — the hotel occupies land originally part of the Sra Pathum Palace (Lotus Pond Palace), adjacent to a still-functioning royal residence. Opened in September 2010, it's a purpose-built urban resort: the circular building design wraps four outdoor saltwater pools and tropical gardens at its centre, giving it a full resort feel in the middle of Bangkok's prime shopping district.
