Ireland's original five-star lodge — built in the 17th century as the Marquis of Lansdowne's summer escape — Sheen Falls Lodge sprawls across 300 private acres along the Sheen River and Kenmare Bay in County Kerry. The estate earned two Michelin Keys in 2024 (retained for 2025), was named #1 Resort in Europe by Condé Nast Traveler readers in 2025, and #1 Resort in Ireland by Travel + Leisure. There are proper rooms, sprawling suites, thatched cottages, and enough on-estate activities to keep you busy for a week without setting foot in the town of Kenmare — though the free vintage-car shuttle makes that easy too.
