Why It Matters
Home to the longest sandbank of any resort in the Maldives at 1.8km, designed by Muza Lab in London with a signature kaleidoscope aesthetic, and one of the few resorts in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Finolhu is a five-star island resort in the UNESCO-protected Baa Atoll, spread across four interconnected islands with a two-kilometre white sandbank — the longest of any resort in the Maldives. The 125 private villas, designed by London's Muza Lab studio in a vivid kaleidoscope colour palette, sit either overwater or on the beach, and 79 have their own private pool. A transparent bubble tent on a secluded spot along the sandbank, about 100 metres behind Crab Shack. One night only — butler-serviced, romantic, and completely alone under the stars. It's the most talked-about experience at the resort and books out well in advance. Offered as the 'Dream Eclipse' package.
Beach Pool Villa
Direct beach access with a private pool — this category sits right on the lagoon. Kaleidoscope-coloured interiors courtesy of Muza Lab, a spacious outdoor terrace, and plenty of natural sunlight. Like the Private Pool Villa but positioned closer to the water's edge rather than in the garden.

A creative studio offering painting, pottery, ceramics, and interactive workshops with resident artists. Open to adults and children. Located in a bamboo pavilion on the island.
Guests can plant coral fragments on spider-web-shaped frames placed on the house reef. Coral fragments from USD 45 (fragment), USD 95 (branch), USD 250 (tree). Participants receive a certificate and photo updates every six months. Can be snorkelled to from shore.
