Why It Matters
Originally a 13th-century electoral hunting lodge, the buildings carry genuine medieval bones — and the renovation didn't sand out the character. Two original Turkish hammams in a Moorish-tiled spa, a restaurant named after the 16th-century court chef who cooked here for the Archbishop of Mainz, and 40 rooms that are all individually furnished. It holds a Michelin Guide listing and Tablet Hotels membership.
A former archbishop's hunting lodge dating back to 1265, Schlosshotel Weyberhöfe sits within its own 10-hectare park in the Bavarian Spessart Nature Park. The whole complex was gutted and rebuilt in 2016/2017, blending stone walls and historic ceilings with seriously modern bathrooms and a 300 sqm oriental-style spa. Look, this is a 4.5-star castle hotel just 35 minutes from Frankfurt airport — that combination of history, forest setting, and a proper hammam at that price is genuinely hard to find.

Weekend retreat led by certified yoga instructor Saskia Vogel from EMA Yoga. Friday–Sunday program includes cacao ceremony, gentle yoga, morning yoga, sound bath, vegan dinner buffets, shared breakfasts, and full spa access. Groups of 8–20 people. Saturday day pass also available.
