Why It Matters

Former Duke of Roxburghe estate with a Dave Thomas-designed championship golf course ranked among Scotland's best inland courses. Holds AA 5-star accreditation and AA 3 Rosette dining recognition. Connoisseur Travel 2025 Reader's Choice award winner. The only Toptracer driving range in the Scottish Borders.

A historic Scottish Borders estate turned luxury resort, SCHLOSS Roxburghe sits on close to 300 acres of manicured grounds with an 18-hole championship golf course, an award-winning spa, and 51 self-catering cottages spread across the estate. The main house dates back centuries — Bonnie Prince Charlie reportedly spent a night here in 1745 — and in 2018 the property was acquired by German group 12.18. Investment Management, which added a 58-room contemporary extension, a 600sqm spa with outdoor infinity pool, and a new restaurant wing. It's now part of the Destination by Hyatt collection.
