A 15th-century palace turned 19-room luxury boutique hotel in Lisbon's historic Alfama quarter. Reborn from what was nearly an archaeological ruin, the Palácio dos Castros now looks better than it probably ever did — rooms set into medieval walls, Roman ruins peeking through in places, and rooftop views sweeping across terracotta tiles to the Tagus. Classic Alfama Bedroom
The entry-level rooms, but don't let that fool you — even these come with generous bathrooms and rain showers. Hardwood floors and traditional wood-panelled ceilings keep the historic character intact. Two rooms in this category can twin and interconnect with a Deluxe King next door, making them a smart family option. Complimentary slippers, bathrobes, and a welcome drink on arrival are standard across all room types.
Classic River Bedroom
Same solid bones as the Alfama room — rain shower, hardwood floors, stucco or wood-panelled ceilings — but with the addition of river views over the Tagus. A meaningful upgrade for the money if you want to wake up to that particular shade of morning light on the water.
Deluxe King Bedroom
Large bathrooms with a separate rain shower and a deep soaking bathtub — not just a tub pushed in the corner, a proper bathtub you'll actually use. There's also a comfortable seating area, making these feel genuinely suite-like without the suite price tag.

There's a seating area, an espresso machine (the only room type with one), and all the usual premium touches. This is the room to book for a special occasion.
