Ryad Dyor
Eclectic Moroccan heritage meets worldly design — warm, intimate, and slightly theatrical. Think art collector meets riad traditionalist. Two shady palm-lined courtyards, a plunge pool, and a three-level rooftop keep things from ever feeling stuffy.
Request a room in the original 'old house' section — reviewers consistently flag that the newer annex rooms feel less special and less consistent with the overall design quality.
Why It Matters
One of just a handful of Medina riads included in both the Michelin Guide hotel selection and Tablet Hotels. The property's three-riad origin gives it a footprint and spatial complexity you rarely find at this scale — and the rooftop, hammam, and Moroccan restaurant make it a genuinely self-contained retreat.
Ryad Dyor is a ten-room boutique riad in the northern Medina's Sidi Ben Slimane quarter — one of the quieter, more authentically Moroccan pockets of the old city. The property was born from the merging of three traditional riads, stitched together through interconnected courtyards and multi-level terraces to create a surprisingly spacious labyrinth. Interior designer Alberto Cortes worked with Ksar Living to blend Moroccan craftsmanship with eclectic global influences: Atlas Mountain rock-tile floors, hand-painted 5-metre cedar ceilings, zellige-clad bathrooms, European antiques, and Far Eastern accents all share the same walls.
