Bea Hotel
Artsy, design-forward boutique hotel with a music-bar soul. Think Italian Renaissance filtered through a 2024 design studio — bold geometric shapes, rich jewel tones, original building details preserved alongside contemporary edge. The bar is the heart of the place: lively, 24/7, and genuinely open to the public.

Why It Matters
Ruby Bea is the Munich-based Ruby Hotels group's first Italian property, opened in 2024 in a beautifully restored 18th-century porticoed building. It's now part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, and listed by both Michelin Guide and Tablet Hotels. The design concept ties directly to Florence's Renaissance legacy in a way that feels clever rather than gimmicky.
Ruby Bea is a 118-room design hotel set inside a porticoed 18th-century building on Piazza della Libertà, at the edge of Florence's historic centre. Named after Beatrice Portinari — Dante's muse — the hotel plays the Renaissance theme hard but with a modern edge: convex mirrors above the beds, MC Escher-inspired wall art, a glowing neon 'Bea + Dante' sign over the bar, and red velvet armchairs alongside warm ochres and geometric marble. Parent brand Ruby Hotels calls it 'Lean Luxury' — thoughtfully designed rooms, a seriously good bar, and no fluff like room service or minibars. It works.

How you'll actually spend your days.

A collection of vintage board games available every Monday (and on request any other day) at the bar. Grab a drink and challenge whoever's around.
The bar hosts regular live gigs and events. Local acts perform in the main bar space and on the courtyard terrace. Schedule varies — check with the hotel on arrival.
A quiet space in the hotel stocked with books and available for reading or working on a laptop. A good alternative to the buzz of the main bar.
On the top floor of Ruby Bea, the Ruby Dante workspace offers hot desks, co-working tables, and meeting rooms, plus a private roof terrace. Hotel guests get a discounted day pass. Separate to the hotel operation but fully integrated into the building.
The hotel's own curated music stream, tunable in your room. A small but signature touch across all Ruby Hotels properties.
