Munich
Historic grandeur meets considered contemporary luxury. Baroque and Rococo bones, residential-scale rooms, jewel-tone accents, marble bathrooms, and a genuine reverence for Bavarian culture rather than surface-level kitsch.

Why It Matters
First Rosewood in Germany. First ultra-luxury hotel opening in Munich in 10+ years. The building itself — preserved frescoes, grand banking-hall staircase — is genuinely special. Also home to Germany's first Asaya Spa, and five named Houses modeled on Wittelsbach royalty with bespoke Nymphenburg crockery and butler service.
Rosewood Munich is Germany's first Rosewood property and the first ultra-luxury hotel to open in Munich in over a decade. It spans two restored landmark buildings — the former Bavarian State Bank headquarters and the adjacent Palais Neuhaus-Preysing — right on Kardinal-Faulhaber-Straße in the old town, steps from Marienplatz. The interiors, designed by Tara Bernerd & Partners and Munich's own Hilmer Sattler Architekten Ahlers Albrecht, keep the original vaulted ceilings, frescoes, and grand staircase intact, then layer in Bauhaus-inspired palettes, handcrafted furnishings, and original artwork by local illustrator Olaf Hajek.
