RIVA sits in a stately Art Nouveau villa right on the Bodensee waterfront, expanded with a contemporary lakeside building that pulls natural light into every corner. The interior is mostly white and minimalist — more gallery than grand hotel — with warm wood panels and sophisticated lighting keeping it from feeling cold. And then there's the rooftop pool, heated to 28°C year-round, with views that stretch across the lake toward the Alps. Downstairs, chef Dirk Hoberg holds two Michelin stars at Ophelia, making this one of the few places in Germany where world-class dining and a serious spa come bundled with a genuinely relaxed atmosphere.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Rent one of the hotel's two premium rigid inflatable boats for a private trip on the Bodensee. TECHNOHULL 909 (max 10 guests, 9m, sunbathing areas fore and aft with T-top shade, refrigerator, toilet) or HYDROHULLS HH9 (max 9 guests, 9m, similar layout). Self-drive (Lake Constance boating license required) or book a skipper through the hotel. Culinary add-ons and harbour transfer can be arranged in advance. For overnight guests only.
Hotel paddleboards are available for guests to use on the lake directly in front of the property.
Hotel bikes available for guests to explore the waterfront and surrounding area.
Creamy cheese fondue served on the covered, heated lakeside terrace during the cold season (November–February). Advance reservation required by 6pm the day before. Available from 6pm.
The hotel prepares a picnic basket for a lakeside lunch. Request in advance.
Tea time in the RIVA Lounge by the fireplace, with mini scones, savoury sandwiches, and sweet treats. Running November 2026–February 2027, 2pm–5pm, advance reservation only.
The hotel's ongoing rotating art programme, in partnership with Galerie Terminus Munich. The current exhibition features works by artist Christian Awe. Free to view for hotel guests throughout the public areas.
Guided wine tastings at the large wooden table next to the 3,500-bottle walk-in wine cabinet in the lobby. Arrange in advance with welcome@hotel-riva.de.
