Why It Matters
Selected by the Michelin Guide Hotel Selection. Owner-driven passion project in an under-the-radar corner of France — the tri-border region where France, Luxembourg and Germany meet. An unusual mix of inn, tearoom, bar and restaurant under one roof.
A 12-room inn in a small Lorraine village run by a woman in her thirties who took over a former roadside stopover and made it her own. The bar pours Moselle wine and owner-created cocktails, the tea room 'Le Boudoir de Clémentine' does mirabelle plum tart and homemade hot chocolate, and the restaurant — Relais M — turns out certified-local Moselle cuisine three nights a week plus Sunday lunch. It's not a hotel so much as a very stylish friend's house you can actually book.
