Why It Matters
ADAGIO Ristorante Gourmet was named one of Forbes' Top 100 Most Innovative Restaurants for 2025 and received Golosario's 'Cucina Radiosa' award in 2023. The on-site cooking school (ADAGIO Accademia) has three professional teaching kitchens and runs classes in English, Italian, and German. One of the more serious food-and-wine destinations in Piemonte.
A 23-room boutique hotel in a late 18th-century farmhouse in the Monferrato UNESCO wine hills, run by German couple Alexa and Markus who traded their former lives for this. Alexa is an accomplished chef with 25 years of culinary experience; everything here orbits food. Two award-winning restaurants, a professional cooking school, and a seasonal outdoor pool surrounded by Barbera vineyards.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Hands-on cooking classes in three professional teaching kitchens, catering for groups of 5-15 students. Classes run in English, Italian, and German. Content ranges from fresh pasta and Italian pastries to international cuisines including Thai, Vietnamese, and Turkish. Single classes (approx. 4 hours) run on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 12:00, including a welcome Spumante, lunch, and half a bottle of wine per person. Week-long residential courses also available.
A complimentary billiard room available exclusively to hotel guests. Good for an evening in.
E-bikes available on-site for hire to explore the Monferrato hills, vineyards, and surrounding villages. Advance booking recommended to ensure availability.
Morning yoga classes with a resident instructor. Pre-booking required.
The concierge team can arrange tours and tastings at local Nizza DOCG producers within minutes of the hotel. They provide maps, itineraries, and can organise a driver if needed — useful given how many producers there are in every direction.
