Rancho do Peixe started out as the rustic beachfront hangout of a group of windsurfing enthusiasts, and that DNA is still very much alive. Sit on Praia do Preá, 12km from Jericoacoara proper, the place has grown into a proper pousada — 26 thatched bungalows built from reforestation wood and carnaúba palm, an open-air spa, four food and drink spots, and an on-site Water Sports Center covering kitesurf, wingfoil, kitefoil, SUP, and windsurf. But there's no air conditioning, no TV, no backup generator, and frogs and lizards will absolutely wander through your bungalow. That's the point.

Fourteen bungalows tucked inside the property's coconut grove — you fall asleep to rustling palm fronds and birdsong instead of waves. A bit more sheltered and private than the beach-facing units, with a larger footprint and an added outdoor shower deck. Same honest, rustic-meets-comfortable construction: reforestation wood, carnaúba thatch, king plus two singles. A solid choice for families or anyone who wants shade and greenery over sea views.

Twelve bungalows right at the sand's edge — wake up to the sound of the surf through the louvered wood walls. Each one sits on a raised deck, framed in reforestation timber and topped with carnaúba palm thatch. No AC (the ocean breeze handles it), no TV (the ocean handles that too). The open design means the wind is always moving through. Veranda has a hammock and sun lounger.
