Quinta São José do Barrilário is a 31-room, 5-star wine hotel that opened in August 2024, perched on the terraced hillside above Armamar in the Douro Valley. The building's slightly curved silhouette follows the lines of the landscape, with floor-to-ceiling windows flooding every room with river and vineyard panoramas. The Pacheca Group owns and operates this property — it's a sister hotel to Quinta da Pacheca — and the estate runs 15 hectares of vineyards producing its own signature wines served at the table.
