Buenos Aires
Contemporary boutique with a Spanish design pedigree. Crisp nautical blues and whites in the rooms; neo-baroque maximalism in the Boca de Toro restaurant downstairs. More considered than flashy, more urban than resort.
Room 1104 has a private terrace and floods with natural light — worth requesting
Why It Matters
Designed by acclaimed interior architect Lázaro Rosa-Violán — the same hand behind the Barcelona original. Part of the family-owned Pulitzer Hotels group, which has been running hotels since 1967. The Visit Sky Bar on the 13th floor is one of the better rooftop spots in central Buenos Aires, with cocktails and city views that draw both guests and neighborhood regulars.
A Barcelona-born hotel group planted its first flag outside Europe here in 2011, and the result is 104 rooms designed by Lázaro Rosa-Violán in his signature blues, whites, and natural wood. It sits right in Microcentro — 260 meters from Plaza San Martín and Florida Street — which puts you within walking distance of most of what downtown Buenos Aires offers. Big enough to feel like a proper hotel, small enough that the staff actually know your name by day two. The real draws: a 13th-floor rooftop bar that locals genuinely use, and a Spanish-influenced restaurant that's earned its spot as a neighborhood fixture.
