Post Ranch Inn sits 1,200 feet above the Pacific on the Big Sur cliffs, 30 miles south of Carmel. The 39-room adults-preferred resort is built into the land itself — rooms have living grass roofs, triangular tree-canopy profiles, or curved ocean-facing walls. No TVs, no alarm clocks. The whole point is to stop doing and start noticing. It holds MICHELIN Three Keys for the second consecutive year and is the only hotel in Monterey County with that distinction.

Butterfly
The building is shaped like a butterfly with outstretched wings — architecturally unique on the property. Available as upper and lower units. Same quality of finishes and amenities as other room types, but the exterior silhouette is genuinely unlike anything else on the property.
KingCastro House
One-bedroom private suite on the southern cliffs of the property. Maximum privacy, cliff-edge views in both directions along the coast. A step up from the standard rooms in terms of exclusivity. Has a private outdoor hot tub.
KingCliff House
The entire interior faces the Pacific. Private outdoor deck and outdoor soaking tub — essentially the whole experience is oriented toward the ocean. One of the most coveted room types at the property for pure coastal immersion.
KingCoast House
Circular design that mirrors the surrounding redwood trunks. Offers ocean views plus views into the neighboring forest. Fireplace inside, deck outside. A good middle ground for guests who want both tree cover and Pacific glimpses.
KingMountain House
Also circular in design, the Mountain Houses are oriented toward the Santa Lucia mountains rather than the ocean. More private and sheltered, with the same quality of finishes. The Organic Facial spa treatment is only available in the Mountain House — one of the few room-specific perks.
KingOcean House
Freestanding structures with curved, living grass-and-wildflower roofs that blend completely into the cliff. Among the most iconic rooms at the property. Northern units have an outdoor stainless steel soaking tub and walk-in shower with unobstructed ocean views. Southern units swap the outdoor tub for an indoor spa tub and a double-sided fireplace visible from both the bed and bath.
King
Pacific Suite
Curved interior with ocean views from every angle — bedroom, living room, shower, and soaking tub. A step up in space and amenities from the standard room types, with a separate living area.
KingPeak House
Perched at the ridgeline with a private deck that hangs over the top of the ridge. Majestic Santa Lucia mountain views. The outdoor stainless steel soaking tub is a standout feature for crisp Big Sur evenings.
KingThe Post House
The most exclusive accommodation on the property. A full private home with views up and down the coast. Used for the property's most private stays — ideal for guests who want the full Post Ranch experience with maximum separation from other guests.
KingTree House
Freestanding triangular structures elevated into the redwood canopy. Accessed by a short stairway. A skylight directly over the king bed turns stargazing into a nightly ritual. Forest-facing rather than ocean-facing — the trade-off is complete immersion in the trees with total quiet. Walk-in shower, window seat, wood-burning fireplace.

Several Lexus vehicles available for complimentary guest use on a first-come, first-served basis. Limited to 4-hour periods. Valid U.S. driver's license required. Great for exploring the Big Sur coastline.
The master gardener leads a tour through the Chef's Garden in the meadow — vegetables, herbs, fruits, and medicinal flowers used in Sierra Mar's kitchen and the spa's signature products. Tastings included.
A two-hour group session with master falconer Antonio Balestreri. Guests get up close with six birds of prey including a Peregrine Falcon and Great Horned Owl, culminating in a Harris's Hawk flight to the glove through the redwoods.
A guided combination of movement, meditation, and forest bathing through the redwood and oak groves on the property.
Guided yoga with breathwork and balancing poses, offered both as outdoor and walking yoga classes. All experience levels welcome.
