Why It Matters
One of the first Michelin-key-rated wellness resorts in Crete. Every one of its 60 suites has a private pool. The spa includes a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, Zerobody dry flotation, Himalayan salt relax area, hammam, and sauna — rare for Greece. Dining is anchored by an exclusive collaboration with Peskesi, Heraklion's most respected Cretan heritage restaurant.
Pnoé (Greek for 'breath') opened in 2023 on Karteros Beach, just five minutes from Heraklion Airport. It's a 60-suite, adults-only resort built entirely around the idea of slowing down — every suite has a private pool, the spa runs hyperbaric oxygen chambers and Zerobody dry flotation, and the food comes largely from the Peskesi organic farm. Designed by Greek architect Vassilis Gkougkous with local stone, driftwood, and lime plaster, the low-slung buildings orient toward the sea and feel more like a village than a resort.

Described on-site as a Junior Suite, the Breathe is a proper step up: a living room, walk-in closet, and a private pool with an embedded Jacuzzi. The bathroom comes with chromatotherapy walk-in rain shower, freestanding bathtub, double sink, and a mirror with a built-in 24" TV. Fits up to 3 adults. Subdued colours, contemporary design, and very quiet.

The entry-level room — and at 29 sqm, guests should know it's on the compact side. But the private pool and fully furnished terrace make up for it. Earthy tones, minimalist design, smart lighting modes (wake, romantic, sleep), Nespresso machine, and Bluetooth audio. Pool heating above 22°C is available on request for an extra charge. Honestly good value for the price tier, especially if you're spending most of your time outside.
