Scandinavia's first gastro hotel, opened in May 2014 in central Växjö. The building was designed by Jonas Lindvall with an interior by Ingegerd Råman — oak floors from Småland's forests, limestone and marble bathrooms sourced from the island of Öland. Food is the entire point here: the attached Michelin-starred restaurant, a buzzy bistro, a rooftop bar, an artisan bakery, a florist, and a wine cellar holding over 6,000 references form an ecosystem that most cities three times Växjö's size would envy.

The Suite
The hotel's one master suite: 50+ sqm spread across two floors with a wood-clad fireplace in the lounge, a loft bedroom, a second bathroom upstairs, seating for six at a dining table, and a ceiling height of nearly 8 metres. Classic city bicycles available to all hotel guests at no charge. Växjö and its surroundings have a solid network of cycling paths.
The hotel's garage hosts a contemporary art exhibition. One of the more unexpected amenities in the building.
A library dedicated to gastronomy, design and interiors located at the rooftop bar. Browse before dinner, or pick up a signed copy of the restaurant's own book, 'Forest Lake Meadow'.
Växjö GK is less than 10 minutes by car. The hotel's Golf Package includes a greenfee for 18 holes. The course is famous throughout Sweden for a brutally tough finish on holes 17 and 18.
