Palazzo Piccinno
Neo-Gothic glow-up meets slow Salento living. Contemporary interiors with original tiles, frescoed ceilings, and artisan-crafted furniture. The 2026 theme is 'Puglia Surrealista' — a surrealist lens on southern Italian life.

Why It Matters
Listed in the Michelin Guide since 2025. One of the most intimate properties in Salento — four rooms total — earning perfect scores on Booking.com (9.9), TripAdvisor (5.0), and Google (5.0). Featured by Mr & Mrs Smith, Tablet Hotels, Welcome Beyond, and Nice2Stay. The Oliveto Suite's century-old ceiling fresco is a one-of-a-kind feature in Puglia at this price point.
Four rooms. That's it. Palazzo Piccinno is an adults-only Neo-Gothic palazzo in the inland Salento town of Parabita — century-old architecture, soaring vaulted ceilings, and original cementine floors, wrapped around a leafy courtyard with a small pool. Hosts Richard and Marco run it with an almost obsessive personal touch, from the daily-changing à la carte breakfast by local chef Marco Cataldo to the nightly turndown ritual. Not a beach resort, not a farmhouse — something quieter and more particular than either.

On Property
How you'll actually spend your days.
Curated beach bag provided for guests heading to the coast — towels, water, fans, rackets, cards, and small extras. The hotel also has a preferred lido spot reserved for direct-booking guests (subject to availability).
Private or small-group sailing excursion with Mino, a local sailor who knows the Salento coast's hidden coves and quiet stretches. Stops for swims and wine under the sun. Arranged by the concierge.
Hands-on cooking class with a local chef: handmade orecchiette, slow-cooked sauces, and traditional Puglian dishes. Arranged by the concierge.
On selected evenings, guests and locals gather in the courtyard garden for aperitivo hour — drinks, conversation, and the kind of informal connection the palazzo is known for. Mixologist-made cocktails or a glass of wine from the family label.
Arranged by the concierge — an evening at a local masseria where vegetables come from the garden, bread bakes in a stone oven, and everything is cooked by the family who owns it.
Romantic horseback rides at sunset along Torre San Giovanni Beach, arranged by the concierge.
Small courtyard pool set within the palazzo's leafy garden, shaded by a thriving banana tree kept at the request of the original owners. Sunloungers, crimson poolside pillows, and a serene atmosphere. Year-round.
On selected evenings, the palazzo organises a group outing to the local piazza for pizza with the locals — informal, fun, and a good way to feel part of the town.
Occasional long-table dinners in the courtyard garden — candles, live music, guests and locals sharing one table. A classic southern Italian tavola experience with a Palazzo Piccinno twist.
Curated walking and trekking recommendations across Salento — coastal trails, paths through olive groves, and nature reserve hikes (including Porto Selvaggio, which also offers kayaking and diving).
