Ottantotto Firenze
Eclectically curated residential retreat — antique family furniture sits alongside contemporary design, suffused lighting, porcelain, prints and books fill every corner. Feels more like staying in a very well-appointed Florentine home than checking into a hotel.

Why It Matters
Featured multiple times in Condé Nast Traveler USA and Condé Nast Traveller UK, listed on Tablet Hotels, and included in the Michelin Guide. One of Florence's few genuinely intimate boutique properties, with only seven rooms and an architect-designed interior that treats each room as a separate design project.
Ottantotto is a seven-room boutique hotel inside a Renaissance palazzetto on Via dei Serragli 88 in Florence's Oltrarno district — the quieter, more lived-in neighborhood across the Arno from the main tourist drag. The building has had several lives: first a baker's home-workshop, then a noble residence, then a philanthropic institution, and finally an architect-owned property that was carefully restored and converted into what it is today. Seven rooms across four floors, a secret walled garden with an aged medlar tree and a resident magpie, and a common living room that's open around the clock.
