Ottantotto is a seven-room boutique hotel inside a Renaissance palazzetto on Via dei Serragli 88 in Florence's Oltrarno district — the quieter, more lived-in neighborhood across the Arno from the main tourist drag. The building has had several lives: first a baker's home-workshop, then a noble residence, then a philanthropic institution, and finally an architect-owned property that was carefully restored and converted into what it is today. Seven rooms across four floors, a secret walled garden with an aged medlar tree and a resident magpie, and a common living room that's open around the clock.

Beaton Family Suite
The Beaton Suite and an adjacent Classic Room joined by a private connecting corridor — giving two separate bedrooms and two bathrooms, with full privacy between spaces. One bedroom overlooks the private garden; the other has the kitchenette and rooftop terrace. One room has a double bed (cot available), the other twin beds (cot available). One bathroom has a bathtub with shower, the other a large shower. Must be booked directly by phone or email — not available through the standard online booking engine.
Double + TwinBeaton Suite
Named for Cecil Beaton — his photograph 'My House' hangs on the wall and informed the interior design brief. Spreads across two levels: the lower floor has an audacious canopied double bed; a metal, wood and glass staircase leads up to a kitchenette, rooftop terrace and space for a cot. The bathroom is in the roofspace, bright, with a bathtub and shower. Breakfast can be taken in the room or on the terrace. Ideal for a honeymoon or a longer stay.

The smallest rooms in the house, but 'intimate' is the right word for them — not cramped. Each one has its own distinct character and decoration. Some face the private garden, others the street. Double or twin bed configurations available, with a cot on request. Bathrooms feature large showers; one room has a chromotherapy shower.

The larger standard rooms, each with their own personality and decor. Garden or street-facing. Double or twin beds, with an optional third bed or cot. Bathrooms have either a large shower or a bathtub with shower. In-room breakfast can be ordered.
