Why It Matters
One of the few places in Okinawa where world-class Michelin-pedigree dining and genuinely intimate accommodation (22 rooms max) come together on a remote island. The partnership with La BOMBANCE Tokyo and its 10-year Michelin star track record elevates this well beyond typical resort dining.
Sitting at the highest point of Kouri Island — a small, largely rural island reached by two bridge crossings from Okinawa's main island — One Suite THE GRAND opened in July 2021 with just 22 rooms, all of them facing the East China Sea. The dining program is the real differentiator: La BOMBANCE Kourijima is a branch of the Tokyo restaurant that has held a Michelin star for 10 consecutive years, and it operates out of a second-floor space with floor-to-ceiling ocean views. The hotel earned the Michelin Key designation for both 2024 and 2025.

The entry category and the most plentiful — 16 of the 22 rooms. All face the East China Sea directly. Natural interiors with wooden accents, a comfortable bed, a bathtub, and a private terrace. Free minibar items included. Some rooms in this category have direct garden access to the infinity pool area.

Two spacious suites at 60.1 sqm with a 40 sqm private garden — the largest outdoor space of any room type. Separate sleeping and living areas, a private terrace jacuzzi, and the full star canopy of Kouri Island overhead at night. Fits up to 4 guests, making it one of the few configurations that accommodates a small family or friends traveling together.

One room in the entire hotel. At 114.3 sqm interior plus a 30.7 sqm terrace, this is the biggest statement the property makes. A wall-sized window delivers a panoramic sweep of the East China Sea. The terrace has its own jacuzzi. Best views and most privacy on the property — though note that at this size and price, it can feel like overkill for two people.

Pool Villa Suite
Four new standalone villas scheduled to open in 2026, separate from the main building. Each has its own private pool and sauna. Northwest-facing for sunset views from spring through summer. Premier Ocean View
Only 3 rooms in this category. The step-up from Ocean Front adds a private outdoor jacuzzi on the expanded terrace and a garden that connects directly to the infinity pool. At 41.1 sqm interior with a 16 sqm terrace and 12.4 sqm garden, this is the sweet spot for couples who want the pool access and an outdoor soak.
