Why It Matters
The first completely energy self-sufficient hotel in the Alps. Circular architecture by a local owner with 15+ years of planning. OLM is South Tyrol's first energy self-sufficient hotel — and it looks nothing like what you'd expect. The circular building, 110 meters in diameter, sits in Kematen village near Campo Tures with the Zillertal Alps and Dolomites framing every view. Opened in December 2023, it runs on geothermal probes, photovoltaics, and its own artesian well, achieving a positive energy balance — surplus, not just neutral. Every one of the 33 Eco ApartSuites faces the panorama; the ones worth the upgrade have private Finnish saunas and freestanding bathtubs inside.

Private Finnish sauna, freestanding tub, and either a separable studio or a sleeping alcove for one or two kids. The 20 m² terrace with loungers and a swing is the biggest in the house. Also has a dedicated space large enough for private massages.
