Why It Matters
The hidden-door concept is genuinely unique — the hotel entrance is a bookcase behind an actual working cocktail bar. Designed by OTSO studio architects Anna and Lancelot, opened in 2019. Michelin Guide-listed. Sits directly on Place de la Bastille, which means Opéra Bastille next door and the Marais a short walk away.
A 3-star speakeasy-style boutique hotel with 16 rooms on Place de la Bastille. You don't walk into a lobby — you walk into a cocktail bar, then push open a bookcase to find a spiral staircase that climbs six floors above one of Paris's most historic squares. No elevator. Very much on purpose.
