The Secret View rooftop cocktail bar over the Forum is genuinely hard to top in the city.
This is one of those rare cases where a hotel's location genuinely earns its reputation. It sits right at the top of Via dei Fori Imperiali, looking directly out over the Altare della Patria, with the Colosseum at the far end and the ruins of the Roman Forum running along both sides. Just 42 rooms across six floors keep things deliberately intimate — no grand marble lobby trying to compete with 2,000-year-old ruins steps away. Rooms are dressed in teal, gold, and gray with mural-sized wallpaper illustrating historic Roman villas. The rooftop bar, where you can watch the sun dip behind the Forum ruins with a cocktail, is the real draw.
