National Hotel
Cinematic Art Deco glamour with a calm, adults-only atmosphere. Think restored terrazzo floors, tropical palms flanking the pool, and the kind of property that's been postcard-worthy since Eisenhower was president. Not a party hotel — guests tend to be couples and design-curious travelers who want history without the stuffiness.

Why It Matters
Designed by architect Roy France in 1939 and a member of the Historic Hotels of America program. Home to Miami Beach's longest infinity-edge pool at 205 feet. Flanked by the Delano and the SLS, it holds its own through original Art Deco character and a $12 million renovation.
The National Hotel is a 1939 Art Deco landmark on Collins Avenue in the heart of South Beach — adults-only, oceanfront, and sitting directly next to the Delano with the SLS across the street. The hotel poured $12 million into renovations and came out the other side with Miami Beach's longest infinity pool (205 feet), 138 refreshed rooms and suites spread across the Historic Tower and a Cabana building, and an award-winning Spanish restaurant. It's listed with the Miami Beach Preservation Board and the Historic Hotels of America program, so the bones are original Roy France architecture topped with a silver cupola, and the renovations had to play by strict preservation rules.
