Why It Matters
A Greek Ministry of Culture landmark, designed by the legendary Aris Konstantinidis, this is the hotel that put Mykonos Town on the luxury map in 1960. Guests like Mick Jagger, Jackie O, and Barbra Streisand used to party here. Now it draws design-literate travelers with its membership in Design Hotels, a serious Michelin-pedigreed restaurant (Apanemi), and one of the best positions on the island — the windmills are literally next door.
Built in 1960 by postmodern Greek architect Aris Konstantinidis and now protected by the Greek Ministry of Culture, Mykonos Theoxenia is one of the island's original five-star landmarks — fully renovated in 2022, still sitting right next to the iconic windmills.
