MiL8 is a 4-star ski-in/ski-out boutique hotel sitting right at the foot of the slopes in the car-free village of Avoriaz 1800 — the name literally nods to the resort's altitude in metres. The building, designed by Morzine architect Hervé Marullaz, pulls off that tricky Alpine trick of looking like it grew there: silver-grey larch façades and tavaillon-clad balconies mirror the iconic rooflines that define Avoriaz. Inside, Parisian studio Atelier Obermant played on contrasts — raw concrete and weathered steel sit alongside warm wood, leather, and wool fabrics, with natural daylight doing most of the heavy lifting.
