Metafort
Modernist-industrial meets old Provençal stone. Waxed concrete floors, Scandinavian furnishings, large bay windows framing canyon views. The vibe is relaxed and sociable — no pretension here, guests share a kitchen and honest fridges stocked with local wine.

Why It Matters
Listed in Tablet Hotels, Michelin Guide, Condé Nast Traveler, Gault & Millau, Le Figaro Magazine, and Marie Claire. One of the only luxury B&Bs in Provence with a heated infinity saltwater pool suspended above a limestone canyon, plus the unique 'Under the Stars' rolling-bed room. Partner of the Parc naturel régional du Mont Ventoux with the Valeurs Parc sustainability label.
Seven rooms in a 17th-century stone bastide perched above the Gorges de la Nesque — that's Metafort. Owners Elsa and Arnaud chose depth over volume when renovating: every room has a jacuzzi or spa bath, the views from even the ground-floor rooms are genuinely spectacular, and the communal kitchen is a proper social space. The standout is 'Under the Stars,' a bed on rails that you physically wheel onto the open terrace to sleep under the Provençal sky.

On Property
How you'll actually spend your days.
Barbecue available to guests in the garden. Good pairing with a trip to one of the local markets for fresh produce.
Bikes and e-bikes available to rent directly from the property. Popular routes include the climb to the summit of Mont Ventoux, circuits through Luberon villages, and rides through the Nesque canyon. Arnaud, the co-owner, is cycling-mad and can plan routes for all levels.
The dried bed of the Gorges de la Nesque begins at the property's doorstep. From the village of Méthamis, guests can hike through wild scrubland into the canyon. The circular hike from nearby Monieux to the rock-chapel of Saint-Michel in the Nesque Canyon (with seasonal pools) is considered a highlight.
A heated saltwater infinity pool suspended above the Nesque valley. Panoramic views of the canyon, the Luberon, and Mont Ventoux. Lit at night. Pool towels included in the room rate. Sun terrace with old stone wall. One of the genuinely great pools in Provence.
The owners can point guests to wineries in Vacqueras, Gigondas, and Cairanne — all within 30 minutes. Also Beaumes-de-Venise for sweet Muscat wines. Not organised tours, but the hosts make recommendations and can help arrange visits.
