Why It Matters
One of the most polished hotels in the Ammergau Alps region and the only hotel in Oberammergau with its own craft brewery. Listed in the Michelin Guide and Tablet Hotels. Central village location that puts you within walking distance of Bavarian woodcarving shops, the Passion Theatre, and hiking trailheads.
Hotel Maximilian is a privately owned Alpine design hotel sitting right in the center of Oberammergau, 700 meters from the famous Passion Theatre. It packs a lot into a small footprint: 20 rooms with beamed ceilings and balconies, a brewery restaurant, an elegant dining room, a compact but serious spa, and a summer beer garden that looks straight out at the Ammergau Alps. The big draw beyond the scenery is Ammergauer Maxbräu, the hotel's own on-site craft brewery.
