Why It Matters

A 5-star Camargue farmhouse hotel sitting right on the edge of a nature reserve, surrounded by reed beds, ponds, and roaming flamingos. The 27 rooms and three gypsy caravans (roulottes) are decorated in a deliberate bohemian-minimalist style — white walls, rumpled linen, vintage finds from Bertoia chairs to Eero Saarinen marble tables, sourced locally or made in France. The outdoor pool, ringed by pine and tamarisk trees with Gandia Blasco furniture, is the social heart of the place. The entry-level room at the Mas, and still far from basic. At 20m², it is compact but well-considered, with a private terrace looking out over the marshes or Camargue countryside. White walls, rumpled linen, and warm wood tones keep the mood calm.

The 55m² flagship room. The large private terrace is the draw here, plus whirlpool bath access is included as part of the room rate. Sleeps up to 2 adults and 2 children. The Malongo coffee machine is a nice touch. Minimalist Camargue aesthetic at its most refined.

The family-sized caravan at 19.5m², with a bathroom fitted with a shower rather than a bath. The extra half-meter matters if you are traveling with a child. Same gypsy spirit as the others but slightly more practical.

The hotel recommends and can arrange 4x4 off-road tours into the wilder parts of the Camargue, getting access to areas unreachable on foot or by bike.
The hotel can arrange horseback riding excursions through the Camargue marshes and along the beach — the most iconic way to experience the region. Local operators run rides through the wetlands past flamingos and white horses.
The hotel sits next to the Ornithological Park of Pont de Gau, home to thousands of flamingos and over 300 bird species. Flamingos are regularly visible from the hotel terrace. Binoculars recommended.
Bikes are available free of charge for guests to explore the surrounding Camargue — the flat terrain and bike-friendly paths make this an ideal way to reach the nearby beaches (2 km) and the Ornithological Park of Pont de Gau.
A seasonal summer highlight. Every Friday evening, La Table de Marius moves outdoors for a festive barbecue with live gypsy guitar. Grilled fish, marinated meats, cheeses, and seasonal salads.
The hotel can arrange visits to traditional Camargue manades — the bull and horse farms run by gardians (local cowboys). A genuinely unique cultural experience in the region.
