Margot House
Residential-cool Scandinavian-Mediterranean hybrid. Think whitewashed walls, low-slung beds, concrete bathrooms, Aesop toiletries, and a mid-century common room that feels more Copenhagen design store than hotel lobby. Discreet to a fault — there's no signage outside, and guests are buzzed in.
Book a Deluxe Room (Room 2 or similar) if Casa Batlló views matter to you — most rooms face interior courtyards
Why It Matters
Interiors by Lázaro Rosa-Violán, one of Spain's most internationally recognised designers. Direct views of Casa Batlló from the Deluxe rooms. The hotel is so discreet it doesn't have exterior signage. Nine rooms total means genuinely personalised service. Named after a Wes Anderson character. Consistently cited by Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, Lonely Planet, and Mr & Mrs Smith.
Margot House is a nine-room boutique hotel on Barcelona's most prestigious stretch of real estate, Passeig de Gràcia — sitting directly opposite Gaudí's Casa Batlló. Named after the Wes Anderson character Margot Tenenbaum, the hotel was founded by father-daughter team Sergio and Sandra Durany and designed by celebrated Spanish interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán. The interiors balance Scandinavian restraint with warm Mediterranean touches: pale woods, micro-cement floors, and Catalan modernist details. With only nine rooms and no lobby fanfare, the whole place operates more like a well-appointed private apartment than a hotel.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The hotel offers Brompton folding bicycle rental — one of the smartest ways to explore Eixample and beyond. Flat streets, great bike lanes, and iconic architecture make cycling a natural fit here.
A handmade, hotel-produced city guide is given to guests at check-in — covering local tips, neighbourhood restaurants, and Eixample's architecture. One of those small-but-memorable touches that makes the place feel personal.
The entire hotel (all 9 rooms) can be booked exclusively for private events, group retreats, or corporate trips. Given the residential feel and private access, this works extremely well for small gatherings.
A well-curated book collection in the common room available to all guests — part of the residential, lived-in atmosphere the hotel cultivates.
