Why It Matters
One of the very few properties in the Cyclades that rejects the dominant beige-minimalist Greek island aesthetic in favor of a fully realized Moroccan design identity. Maregold Mykonos does something most Greek island hotels don't: it brings Morocco to the Cyclades. The whitewashed blocky buildings stay true to traditional Cycladic architecture, but step inside and you find geometric patterned textiles, tiled bathrooms, and golden pendant lamps that nod firmly toward Marrakech. Six adults-only suites perch above Elia beach, 10 km from Mykonos Town, all with sea views and some with private pools.
